After the Harvest (ATH) rescues nutritious fruits and vegetables from going to waste and donates them to agencies that serve hungry people, primarily in Greater Kansas City. Our volunteers glean after the harvest, picking what’s left in farmers’ fields and picking up already harvested leftover produce. The majority of the funds we raise helps secure semi-truckloads of donated produce that might otherwise end up in landfills.
Their mission is to connect high-functioning adults with disabilities to resources. Through fundraising, community awareness, and education, they help empower them to experience the fullness of life. During the holidays you can help with their toy drive or help with one of their community breakfasts. But you don't have to wait for Christmas, you can volunteer year-round at their Harvesters food pantry and distribution on the first Friday of every month! Ages 5+ with adult supervision.

HappyBottoms provides a monthly supply of 50 diapers or 30 training pants to children in need through over 60 social service agency sites. Our distribution agencies provide healthcare, emergency assistance, education, childcare and case management services to families in need. Our partner model has a ripple effect on families by providing access to other services that will help lift them out of poverty.

Opportunity for Kids: Become a Children's Mercy Junior Champion
When your child donates to the hospital, they have the opportunity to participate in the Junior Champions charm program. This program recognizes their generosity and provides positive reinforcement for their acts of kindness.
As a volunteer, you can expect to clean and cut produce, plate food, clean the kitchen, and serve meals to the guests. Volunteers must be at least 14 years old. Children 10-13 must be accompanied by a caring adult.
Bridging The Gap not only educates the community about the environment, but also we engage people in taking action. Together, with our volunteers and program leaders, we do the physical work it takes to restore our environment by planting trees, picking up litter, removing invasive species, and much more. We engage 1,800 volunteers each year – can you join us?
There are a couple of way kids can volunteer here. One way is helping to volunteer at their Story Boutique. The other is as a community volunteer helping with special events, making crafts and blankets, or helping collect needed items!

Volunteers are invaluable to fulfilling the mission of Powell Gardens. It takes thousands of service hours to maintain the Gardens and offer meaningful experiences for our public visitors. Volunteers can commit to a weekly, monthly, or episodic schedule to help our staff continue the beautification and sustainability of this botanical haven.

There are so many wonderful volunteer opportunities at Northland Therapeutic Riding Center: Horse leaders, side walkers, grooming and tacking, and more! Volunteers must be 14 years of age or older and in good physical condition to lead horses or side walk with our riders. NTRC provides a 2.5 hour volunteer orientation for all those interested in helping.

Hope Faith-Homeless Assistance Campus works to alleviate homelessness and poverty in Kansas City, Missouri by providing basic necessities and assistance, as well as, providing critical services and programs to empower individuals experiencing homelessness and at-risk individuals to become self-sufficient and independent. Hope Faith is a non-denominational, Christian-based organization that accomplishes this mission through a variety of programs and services. Ages 5+

Too many children fall through the cracks, go to bed hungry at night, or don’t have warm winter coats. Too many children can’t read because there is no one to help them. You can help by packing Backsnacks, collecting school clothing for kids, running a book drive, and helping during the holidays.
HopeKids provides an ongoing calendar of events to the families we serve. A number of our events throughout the year need volunteer support in order to be a success. Although the volunteer duties vary depending on the event, we’re always looking for individuals who are enthusiastic about being warm and welcoming in their interactions with the children and their families.

Volunteers needed to serve as Personal Shoppers and Greeters in Lazarus Boutique. Shoppers help guests 1:1 and are dedicated to meeting their needs. Every Saturday Lazarus Ministries KC serves 100+ hot meals through our cornerstone program, Lazarus Table. Staff prepare the meal, but we utilize volunteers each weekend to set up, prep, serve the meal restaurant style and clean up. This opportunity is from 10AM – 1PM Saturday.

A local nonprofit that supports domestic violence survivors, provides essential resources to end period poverty, empowers college bound and non-traditional students and inspires cancer patients, lifting all those we serve to live their best life.
Groups/businesses/organizations and host Period Packing Parties (PPP's) to create more awareness on menstrual health and equity as well as providing basic need items into the community. We have given over 1 million period products to people locally and across 14 countries. Ages 14+
Pawportunities is a great place to volunteer for all ages! You will have to complete a volunteering class before you can help. Activities include making food bags for foster homes, making wellness treats, walking animals, interacting, and helping with cleanup.
The KP Café is a great place to volunteer at on Sunday mornings (9:30-11 am) or during the week (Mon-Thurs 9 am – 12 pm). We offer free open gym for kids to enjoy during the week at the same time. We welcome small mom’s groups to meet at the café as well as families to grab a drink and snack.
KP Worship Service Sundays at 10 am – If you wish to serve on a Sunday morning as a greeter, barista at the cafe or in the classrooms! The service time is 10 am!
